Mudearth inspirations

Natural Design

What if every single act of interior design and architecture made the world a better place, not just environmentally but on an emotional, physical and spiritual level too.

“As the built up spaces where we spend our time in become more and more chaotic; it’s becoming more important than ever that the one place we can create harmony is the space we call home.”

— Mudearth.

Interconnected Living Spaces

When we design your space with the intention of connecting all these component parts into one a seamless flow of design, we turn your building into a place of growth, beauty and nourishment.

Holding the space

The materials, objects, colours and textures you fill your home or business with make a huge impact on how you feel as does the way you allow natural light into your space along with the colours you use and how they all interconnect with each other

“If just five minutes of looking at a potted plant can significantly lower blood pressure and anxiety, imagine the positive impact of living or working in a space where the walls and structures are literally built from nature.”

— Mudearth.

Working with our senses.

Human receptors can sense and differentiate between real and synthetic materials, which helps explain why a crackling fire will always make more impact than a gas fire, why real plants will always be more beautiful then fake ones and why the sounds of the waves and forest captivate us.

When we enter an interior space that has been created organically from natural raw earth materials, our sense receptors immediately respond empathically to our surroundings which in turn increases our immune systems and emotional well-being.

Innate connections

So now when we talk about paints and plasters, we can no longer just talk about colours, we can talk about texture, about feelings and about the innate connection to nature that a paint or plaster can give us.

Holistic approaches to design

When we look at a clients design project, we don’t just focus on the desired aesthetic, we want to know how that person is currently feeling and living in that space, What materials is that person living with, what harm could their living space be contributing to that persons well-being and what could be done to create a more nurturing space through the creation of interior design.

To be able to understand on a deeper level what intentions that person has for their own well-being and how their environment can be curated to support them is one of the most powerful ways we can transform our living and working spaces.

Refuge and shelter

From the mud huts of the African savannahs to the homes, ashrams and temples in India; natural raw earth materials have always been used to create and adorn our shelters, places of refuge and spiritual growth.

Our inspiration for the creation of Mudearth have always embraced these traditional methods of architecture to create and design spaces which incorporates nature to enhance the aesthetic, function and emotive presence of interior spaces.

“I do not think the measure of a civilisation is how tall its buildings of concrete are, but rather how well its people have learned to relate to their environment and fellow man.”

― Sun Bear, Chippewa

“When we design spaces with a holistic perspective, we are looking at how we create the physical space around us to help transform the internal space within us.”
